Parent & Spectator Code

Purpose

NDTC 2026 aims to provide a positive, safe and enjoyable environment for all athletes. Parents, guardians and spectators play an important role in supporting this objective.

Expected Behaviour

• Treat athletes, officials, volunteers and spectators with respect.
• Encourage effort, enjoyment and sportsmanship.
• Follow instructions issued by event officials.
• Respect venue rules and safety procedures.
• Promote a positive environment for all participants.

Unacceptable Behaviour

• Abusive, threatening or aggressive behaviour.
• Discrimination, bullying or harassment.
• Coaching from restricted competition areas.
• Challenging officials in an aggressive manner.
• Behaviour that may place children or vulnerable people at risk.

Photography

Photography and filming must comply with the event Photography and Social Media Policy. Any safeguarding concerns relating to photography should be reported immediately.

Children and Young People

Parents and guardians remain responsible for their children unless specific supervision arrangements have been agreed with a coach or authorised event representative.

Reporting Concerns

Any safeguarding concern should be reported immediately through the safeguarding portal or directly to the Event Safeguarding Lead.

Consequences

Individuals who fail to follow this code may be asked to leave the venue and may be reported to the relevant authorities or governing body where appropriate.
